In today's financial crises many people are unemployed and don't have much money to spend on high quality vehicles. The Reason They Were Seized

The main reason Police auto auctions contain so many vehicles is that they have been seized because of drug crimes, for example. Either the car was used for a drug deal or it was bought with drug money.

A high percentage of the cars offered at police car auctions are new or hardly used and are often high value vehicles like sports cars and luxury cars. It's not uncommon that some of them have a few flaws but this is a minor issue when you can get a great car like this for such a low price.

There are lots of other reasons why a vehicle would be seized, and then sold at a police or government vehicle auction, for example the fact that the owner may have not paid parking tickets or have received too many DUIs.

The police needs cars they can trust which means high technical standard and that they have to be relatively new. Therefore police vehicle fleets have to be renewed from time to time. When a stock of new cars arrives they need to get rid of the old ones by auctioning them off.

Before they are handed over to the new owners they are stripped for all signs that made them look like police cars. Some of these cars are nothing but great bargains; decent cars at an amazing low price.
